Rylee Taylor’s Story

Rylee Taylor was a bright light to so many in this world. She was known for her raspy voice, larger-than-life personality, and love for Jesus.

Rylee was saved at nine years old, but at 17 during church camp, she met Jesus and fell in love with Him. Shortly after returning from camp, she felt the call to ministry.

She immediately began serving as a middle school small group leader, became an intern at her church, and eventually stepped into a full-time staff position. Rylee began preaching, teaching, and pouring into the youth. She had a deep passion for the next generation, and the youth looked up to her for her boldness in following Jesus so proudly.

She truly loved Christ and wanted everyone to experience His love, grace, and mercy just as she did.

Since Rylee’s passing, many people have shared how much she impacted their lives. Every story relates back to Jesus.

Our World Changed Forever

On April 9, 2019, our world was changed forever. Rylee Taylor passed away after a very short battle fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia, leaving behind a 3‐week‐old baby that she had to give birth to at 29 weeks so she could start treatment. Rylee found out she had AML when she was 27 weeks pregnant on March 5, 2019, but confirmed March 11, 2019. She was transported Medical City Dallas Hospital where she gave birth to the most special blessing, Mase, on March 16, 2019.

Rylee began chemo only a week after Mase was born. On April 8, Rylee developed a sporadic brain bleed that couldn’t be stopped due to her platelet count being so low. One day later, Rylee passed from this life and entered into the wonderful arms of Jesus.

Shining for Jesus:
Rylee’s Legacy

After her passing, Rylee’s parents, Keri and Jason Taylor felt called to continue her passions and ministry within the Permian Basin.

In the fall of 2019, they started the Live Like Rylee Foundation. The foundation consists of board members from the community, people who shared life with Rylee as family members, church volunteers, or friends.

It is essential that the board includes individuals who not only knew Rylee but also truly understood and witnessed firsthand her heartbeat and passion for Jesus and the next generation.
